Chilean miners rescued from last year's mine collapse have begun what they call a pilgrimage of thanksgiving in Israel. The 25 men, who spent 69 days trapped underground, will visit key holy Christian sites during their visit including the Via Dolorosa, Church of the Nativity, Capernaum and several miners will be baptized near the Sea of Galilee. The miners accompanied by their wives and girlfriends will be in the country for eight days. The trip comes six weeks after the Chilean government announced its recognition of a Palestinian state. Noga Tarnopolsky the director of Punto Press and organization that provides support services for Spanish media in Israel said while she doubts the miners' trip will affect the Spanish language media's perception of Israel it will give viewers and readers of the Spanish media a chance to see an aspect of Middle Eastern life they normally don't get to see.
