Adam Yauch - a founding member of hip-hop group the Beastie Boys - has died. The singer had been undergoing treatment for cancer since doctors discovered a tumor in his salivary gland in 2009. Yauch and the Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, though Yauch was unable to attend the ceremony. He was 47.

"The Avengers" is off to a solid start. The movie took in 18.7 million dollars from midnight screenings in the U.S - that puts it at number eight on the list of all time highest midnight debuts and sets it up to dominate the weekend box office. "Avengers" has already opened internationally, and through Thursday (May 03) had already raked in 304 million dollars.

Michael Jackson is dancing again - on Pepsi cans. The soft drink maker and the estate for the late pop star have unveiled plans to put the singer's silhouette on one billion cola cans in a global ad campaign. Jackson will appear in some of his iconic dance poses for the promotion, which will also coincide with the 25th anniversary of the singer's "Bad" album.

Finally, lawyers for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries met in court for a divorce hearing. Kardashian's attorney said that the reality star wants to move forward, but that the case has been slowed by the NBA player's hurt feelings and his desire for an annulment. Humphries' attorneys said they needed more time to gather information to decide whether to pursue allegations that the couple's 72-day marriage was a fraud. Both sides are due back in court in August.
