Arrival of NASA's Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft at KSC

The unique NASA converted Boeing 747 SCA Aircraft, The Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, touched down at Kennedy Space Center today, 10th April 2012, at 22:34 UTC, 17:06 local time. The visit however an emotional one, as the aircraft is to carry Space Shuttle Discovery to her final resting place - At the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum in Virginia.

Discovery is due to be mated to the SCA on Saturday 14th before leaving early Tuesday 17th.
