U.S. presidential candidates break for church

2012-08-20 5 Dailymotion

President Barack Obama and his family walk from the White House to St. John's Episcopal church in Washington. D.C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in New Hampshire, Republican Nominee Mitt Romney and his wife Ann also attend services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Both are trying to appeal to religious voters as the presidential race heats up.

Other big ticket issues include the economy, job creation and government spending.

Romney's recent choice to tag rising Republican star Paul Ryan as his running mate was also slated to stir things up, but a Reuters/Ipsos poll on Monday showed it would take more than that to put a dent in Obama's seven-point lead.

However, all that could change dramatically with just over three months until Americans vote in November.
