Surging for Answers: Afghan war aims vague?

The top American military in Afghanistan faced Congress for his testimony on the infusion of 30,000 additional American troops. General Stanley McChrystal said the next 18 months would be "critical" to the future of Afghanistan and that of the United States. But critics, including former Afghanistan war veterans, still disagree with President Obama's plans. Their disagreement comes a week after the President's address to the nation at West Point and after the U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan, Karl Eikenberry, was convinced of the necessity of the surge.
