Stocks end steady despite Google-led volatility & jobless claims disappoint

10/18/12 Stocks were negative Thursday, but closed relatively flat, despite techs trading way down following Google's premature and disappointing earnings announcement. Also, jobless claims rebound and Traveler's travels higher.
