A bitter row over freedom of speech has broken out in Lithuania as a local politician faces jail for his views on deadly unrest in the country's capital 20 years ago. The official account is that 14 protesters were killed in the shootings by Soviet troops. But an opposition party leader could now be tried for his claims it was orchestrated by Lithuanians.
