As the election results in Afghanistan continue to be processed, all eyes are on Hamid Karzai and his opponent Abdullah Abdullah. Discrepancies in poll numbers, however, are making it increasingly difficult to predict the winner. While the Bush Administration supported Hamid Karzai almost unconditionally, the Obama administration seems to be keeping its distance. So if Karzai does win, what will this mean for relations between the United States and Afghanistan?
