STORY: Japan Fashion Week (JFW) officially kicked off on Sunday (March 17) with the autumn and winter collections for 2013 and 2014 by designer Conny Groenewegen from Holland, headlining the week-long fashion extravaganza of mostly Japanese designers.

Groenewegen was elected to be part of 'Fashion Exchange', a programme which invites overseas designers to be a part of JFW.

Strongly influenced by Japanese designers, citing the origin of her inspiration as Japanese designer Yoshiki Hisinuma, Groenewegen has been working towards opportunities in Japanese fashion for the last five years.

For her latest collection, the Dutch seamstress sought to be 'organic', looking for a natural shape sculpted through digital knitting techniques.
