Dozens killed in Bangladesh protest over blasphemy law

More than 20 people have been killed in the Bangladeshi capital after police clashed with protesters demanding a new blasphemy law.

Authorities estimate some 200,000 people took part in the march to central Dhaka.

Violence is said to have erupted after police tried to intercept stick-wielding protesters in front of the country's largest mosque.
