Why re-think on Naroda Patiya convicts?

They are convicted in 2002 Naroda Patiya case and the latest u-turn by the Narendra Modi Government on a death penalty appeal for former Minister Maya Kodnani and Bajrang Dal activist Babu Bajrangi has created a greater dilemma for Modi Government. The Gujarat Government which backed the SIT last month to file an appeal seeking death for 11 in 2002 Naroda Patiya riots case has invited a political storm with the sudden u-turn. The Gujarat Governments claims that it has asked its Advocate General to give his opinion on the case, hasn't cut ice with the Opposition.
