Basicc creates a 23-minute version of the two-hour film, The Interview, by fast forwarding through the dead air of the film and narrates the film’s agenda throughout. In Basicc’s words, I predicted the whole sordid affair of The Interview early on, before the release. When I learned The Interview was a “comedy” about killing the North Korean president, that it would have to be a follow up to all the previous propaganda hate towards North Korea in other Hollywood movies. Once I heard about the hack, I knew it was a hype vehicle. They blamed North Korea without any evidence, so why if this is a comedy is everyone getting all terroristic about it? After Sony decides not to release the movie, as theaters allegedly won’t even carry it, President Barack Obama gets involved in what looks like a press campaign for The Interview movie, then suddenly everyone is on board and they release it a few days later ON CHRISTMAS DAY itself. And of course, it’s not about money, insurance will take care of that, they just want to make sure the movie becomes a household title, and it will. The film stars James Franco as goober humor extroadinaire James Franco, er, Dave Skylark of Skylark Tonight, and Seth Rogen as goober humor extraodinaire, Seth Rogen, er Aaron Rapaport of Skylark Tonight. The Interview also stars the ravishing Lizzy Caplan as Agent Lacey of the CIA of course, what other entity exists in this world. President Kim Jong Un, the real president of North Korea, is portrayed by Randall Park and his right hand lady is portrayed by Sook, pronounced Suck. Eminem also makes a cameo appearance as himself in The Interview. The entire movie accuses North Korea of doing what America is doing in the very movie itself. While it’s true I don’t know anything about North Korea, they could really be bad guys and all, but what I do know is that America is constantly demonizing in movies like The Interview and even another movie I did, GI Joe Retaliation. If they were really bad, they should do a documentary about them, not use propaganda and lame jokes to make us hate them, that’s just counterproductive. Instead, they use real news commentators to talk bad about North Korea in the comedy movie as they also do when they are in their real role as “real” news commentators on TV.
