Binaural Buzzing Beehive

This recording captures the beekeeper’s acoustical point of view – the swarm at the mouth of the hive around the binaural “dummy head” is very much what a beekeeper experiences when working at a hive. When you listen with stereo headphones or earphones, the surround experience is three-dimensional. Technical information: microphones are SONY ECM-155 electret microphones placed in a Styrofoam hat stand. The video was captured in 1080i by a SONY A1U HDV camera; video was edited in SONY Vegas 7 and rendered as .wmv 24P 1280x720.
