Used as the suffix of medical terms for all kinds of paraphilia By accident, I watched David Cronenberg’s film “Crash,” and was extremely surprised yet interested in seeing the protagonist with paraphilia that made him sexually desire ‘machinery.’ So after looking for relevant material, I was able to find a lot of information on unexpectedly various types of subjects for ‘paraphilia,’ and felt unfamiliar and even strange because most of them were objects that I would have never considered to be subjects of ‘sexual arousal.’ However, the most interesting part was that they were ‘ordinary objects’ that can be commonly found around us. The fact that things that are nothing more than a part of everyday life for ordinary people, including myself, could become subjects providing absolutely incomparable, ‘exceptional’ joy to someone was intriguing. The following work, planned from such intrigue, is a motion graphic taking on the theme of paraphilia and expressing in various graphics the many types of objects and situations that become subjects of sexual arousal.
