Installation view of both projects: Working under the project name “Aphasia”, two audiovisual compositions were made with the goal of approaching the topic of The limits of language; specifically, the traumatic sensorial impact of verbal violence. Separately, both video-installation pieces analyze in detail the repetition as an eraser of meaning and the confrontation of interlocutors; this is done as the viewer is devoured by immersive audiovisual environments created with multi-channeled projections. The project “Words stuck inside the mouth” is a set of multi-screen projections, arranged as a video-installation that consisted of two conceptual parts: the first part involved performances pieces that exposed my body to the inability of speaking, aiming for understanding the limits of language through my corporal sensibility. The second part was made of short documentaries films and video-poetry about my relationship with my parents, and our communicative issues. Ultimately, this was an ode to my stuttering. I started this project with the realization that I do art because I feel that language fails me, and that my own struggle with words is a fertile field for my creativity.
