Bloody Cop Kills: Robocop

Admittedly, I may be scarred by this one, but it is hard to deny that this is easily the most epic 'killing' (he kind of survives I guess) of a cop on screen ever. Never mind the fact that the dialogue is downright perfect in it's simplistic depiction of bad guy vs. cop lingo ("Buddy, I think you're slime"), but it pulls no punches when it comes to tension and brutality. Scratch that, it throws full punches right through your head and leaves a gaping hole. from the first radar sounds made by Clarence Boddicker as he toys with Peter Weller's Murphy before blowing off his hand with a shotgun, to the inevitable destruction of his body bullet by bullet; this is amped up cop destruction that got us all talking as kids and still keeps us chatting. Especially when the remake decides to barely blow up the same character with some lame car bomb that doesn't even seem to remove limbs. That's fine with me. That just made this placement at number one all the more secure. We need more Paul Verhoeven in our lives.
